Sezzle's two-factor authentication (2FA) feature exists to keep your merchant account secure! 2FA is now required to be set up for all merchant accounts and requires each user associated with your merchant account to verify their identity before logging in. This usually will take place via a one-time password or by using security questions. Setting up 2FA will not only make sure the correct individuals have access to your account, but it also enhances the security of your private information and prevents fraudulent activity on your account.
Please note: if multiple people need access to a merchant account, or if there are shared credentials, a new user will need to be created for each individual user before setting up 2FA for your account. I need to setup 2FA.
I already have access to my merchant account.
If you have logged into your merchant account before, setting up 2FA is easy! Simply log into your merchant account as you would normally and select "continue" on the enable two-factor screen. You will then be asked to insert your phone number to receive one-time passcodes. After verifying your phone number, you will be asked to insert answers to three security questions of your choice. Once submitted, this information will be used for all future login attempt.
I've never logged into my merchant account before.
No worries! Even if you have not logged in before, 2FA can be set up on your account for future use. If you have never logged into your merchant account before, you will need to be sure you have been invited to create an account by the account owner. You will find this invitation in your email. Once you have created your username and password, you'll have the ability to enable 2FA.
I have 2FA set up, but I am having some issues.
I had 2FA set up, but my email has now changed.
If your email has changed, you will need to set up new login information to get into your merchant account. You can do this by logging in with your old email, navigating to "users" in your merchant dashboard, and selecting "invite new user." You can then send an invite to your new email address. From here you'll need to respond to the email invitation and create new login information. Once you have done this, you can re-enable 2FA for the new account.
I have 2FA set up, but I need to change my phone number
If you need to change the phone number on your account, you will need to do so within the 2FA module. Simply enter your login information as usual, and when the 2FA screen appears, select the edit icon next to your phone number to change the phone number setup with your 2FA.
I no longer have access to my phone number used on my account and I cannot get logged in with 2FA.
If you need to change the phone number associated with your account and can no longer log in using 2FA, you will need to reach out to Sezzle Merchant Support to gain access to your account. We will verify a few pieces of information so that you can again access your account.
