What is a Passkey Login?
A Passkey Login is a secure and convenient way to access your account without the need for a traditional password. Instead of remembering a complex password, you use a unique passkey – which can be a Face ID or fingerprint login – to authenticate and gain access to your account. You may add more than one passkey to your Sezzle account so you can seamlessly log in from either your mobile device or desktop.
Passkey Logins enhance security by reducing the risk of password-related breaches. They are used as an alternative to PIN and SMS one-time-passwords (OTP) for user authentication, thus providing a faster and more secure means of authentication, which makes our applications more resistant to hacking and phishing attacks.
How do I set up a Passkey Login for my account?
If you’re setting up Passkey for the first time, you will see the Passkey Registration page upon successful login.
- Register a Passkey.
- Create a passkey using our iCloud Keychain, another device via a QR code, or your Chrome profile.
- Verify your identity.
If you would like to add additional passkeys, you can navigate to the Biometrics login settings page and create a passkey there.
Can I still use a password if I prefer it over a Passkey Login?
Yes, you can still use your password and/or Two-Factor Authentication to log in to your Sezzle account. However, for enhanced security, we recommend using Passkey Logins whenever possible.
What happens if I lose my device or passkey?
Losing access to the device that was storing your passkeys is not uncommon. You can log in and recover your account by using your password. Once logged in, new passkeys can be added to your account on the Security page in your dashboard.
Is Passkey Login compatible with all devices and platforms?
Compatibility can vary, but Passkey Logins are becoming increasingly popular and are often supported on a wide range of devices and platforms. For example, most mobile devices now have the ability to use Face ID or fingerprint encryption as a viable passkey option. Windows Hello also works as Passkeys if there are no internal biometric sensors on the device.
